Job Summary:· The Area Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that patient care is coordinated and managed appropriately within defined units or floor at (...............). The Nursing Supervisor responsible about all managerial and clinical issues related to nursing and responsible for ensuring that patient and family care services are delivered appropriately and the supervision of nursing staff at the assigned area is appropriately addressed. Responsibilities and duties:· Assume management and
leadership responsibilities in nursing practice within designated area or as
otherwise directed by nursing management. · Liaise with all departments
to facilitate effective and efficient patient care processes. · Provide Nursing care of the
highest quality, which is safe and in accordance with the Hospital Policy to
achieve evidence based care objectives. · To act as a coordinator
between nursing units ensuring effective and efficient nursing administration
processes. · Responsible for
implementing all policies and procedures and ensuring compliance by unit personnel. · Act as a management and
clinical mentor to the head nurses, Assistant head nurses nursing and other
staff within the assigned area to aid with their development. · Deploy staff in the
units/floors according patient acuities within the assigned areas in
coordination with the house supervisor. · Do regular clinical rounds
to ensure constant supervision in all areas of responsibility. · Ensures the implementation
of patient and family education whenever required. · Contribute towards unit/ward
specific orientation. · Do performance appraisal at
the end of probationary period and yearly performance appraisals with the
assistance of the Head Nurse. · Assist head nurses to
develop a unit specific training program and monitor training with assistance
of the Education Team and keep training records of her staff. · Guides head nurses in
planning assignments for nursing personnel at the assigned areas to ensure
proper distribution of assignments and adequate management of time, space and
facilities. · Interpret the philosophy,
objectives and policies of the hospital, the nursing department and the unit
to staff, patients and health care personnel. · Delegate authority to most
capable H.N. in his/her absence. · Hold regular meetings with
the respective floors/units and submit minutes to the CNO. · Participate in regular department meetings. · Will immediately takes corrective action as needed for clinical errors. · Development employee
potential through performance evaluation and further
training.
Participation in all safety protocols against fire and disaster, drills in
Competencies:Education: · Must have BSN or equivalent internationally recognized
Nursing Science qualification. · Post graduate qualification in Nursing Administration/Management is an advantage. Experience:· Post graduate qualification in Nursing Administration/Management is an advantage. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in
relevant specialty, 3 of them in a senior position. · Current BLS certification required, ACLS is an advantage. Training:· Participate in continuing and
in-service education and maintain current knowledge through reading
professional material. (Attendance of 50 hrs in-service education programs
required per year). · Maintain current nursing
licensure in country of origin and registration with the Egyptian Syndicate. · Practice nursing in accordance with the Scope of practice in Egypt and International Council of Nurses. Dress Code:· According to (...............) policy.
