Job Description Department: Nursing Title: Health Screening Unit Staff Nurse
Reports to:
Accountable to:
Head Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, ADON, DON
Job Summary:
To work within
the health screening team providing a comprehensive physical, psycho-social and
spiritual care to patients. Participate as a member of the nursing team and perform
all relevant forms of nursing in collaboration with other team members. Regularly
assume responsibility for nursing care on the ward.
Responsibilities and duties:

Assist patient to choose type of program according to
eligibility
·
Ensure that secretary obtain patient's chart at the same
time obtain payment or guarantee letter from companies
·
Make sure the patients’ files are collected on time from
Medical Record office (if any) in most cases; patients are first time visit and
require opening new file.
·
Perform sample collection according to selection of check
up procedures
·
Prepare the consulting rooms for all the clinics.
·
Assist doctors and stay with patients until the doctor
completes the consultation
·
Guide patients who require other services such as Cardiology
and Radiology etc.
· Perform or assist others in performing proper aseptic
technique, isolation procedures, and infection control procedures.
· Assist patients who need assistance with wheel chair
and porters etc.
·
Hand over patients with completed report to the receptionist.
·
May be deployed in other departments if the need arises.
·
Evaluate the care provided, including patient response.
· Demonstrate
ability to assess patient's understanding of and compliance with instructions and
health care teaching.
· Establish special clinical pathways with the collaboration
of Education Department to manage specific conditions in the unit.
·
Know the following protocols:

Disaster Policy.
-
Code blue policy.
-
Fire safety policy.
-
Infection
control policies.
Educational Responsibilities:
Under direction
in addition to the Chief Nurse and Clinical Instructor, the Nurse will:
·
Help identify relevant clinical training needs.
·
participate in the clinical introduction of all
new nursing - and assistants.
·
Develop and upgrade leadership skills to be an
effective role model.
·
Take responsibility for their own development needs
and learning.
·
Attend all required in-services training programs.
·
Stay current with mandatory training such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
Communication and Interpersonal skills:
·
Follow appropriate communication channels
as per department organization chart.
·
Must be able to effectively communication both in
writing and verbally (Orally).
·
Maintain professional appearance and dress code.
·
Wear Identification badge when working.
·
Adhere to policies for being absent or late.
·
Must be innovative and have both thing critical thinking and skills.
·
Always encourage good unit rapport to maintain teamwork.
Qualifications:
Education:
· B.S.N, Nursing College or Nursing Diploma.
Experience:
· 1 years’ experience in
Primary Health Care or OPD is an advantage.
· Computer literacy is an
advantage.
Dress Code:
According

1- Vital Signs.
2- 12 Leads ECG.
3- Narcotic Handling.
4- Blood Glucose
Monitoring.
5- Blood Extraction.
6- Obtaining
Blood Sample from C-V Line.
7- I.V Cannulation.
8- Change of
Dressing.
